UCL Fantasy MD9 Budget Picks
We look at some of the top budget players left in the competition.
Danjuma (VIL | 7.2)
Very few expected Villarreal to have progressed this far into the competition, but here they are after a sensational win over Juventus in the last round.
Danjuma had been a revelation in UCL Fantasy to date and is currently the 5th highest scoring player left in the competition.
The Nigerian-born Dutch international has amassed 5 goals and 2 assists to date, as well as earning 2 Player of the Match awards.
Villarreal face Bayern over two legs.
Capoue (VIL | 6.4)
Capoue ranks third in terms of balls recovered (48) and has a total of 46 fantasy points to date.
The ex-Watford and ex-Spurs defensive midfielder is a mainstay in the Villarreal XI.
He makes a top pick for MD9/10, at his price point he is the perfect enabler for the rest of your midfield.
Jorginho (CHE | 6.7)
Jorginho may have suffered heartache over the international break with Italy, but he returns to Chelsea duties.
He has scored twice in UCL this season, both from the spot and also has 2 Player of the Match awards. He also has 4 clean sheets.
He is however, not a guaranteed starter for the Blues lately. He has the tendency to be left on the bench.
Vlachodimos (BEN | 5.4)
One of the cheapest GK options left in the game is Benfica’s Vlachodimos.
He is the game’s second highest scoring GK (43) and has 5 clean sheets to date in his 8 appearances.
Benfica, like Villarreal, are the surprise package of the last 8. They play Liverpool over two legs but are not to be overlooked.
However, Liverpool fans may point out that Benfica were totally outclassed by a hard-pressing Bayern side over two games.
Vlachodimos makes a good second choice GK. Benfica plays first on 6th Apr so he can be your team’s GK and if things go wrong, you can always subbed him out.
Lodi (ATL | 5.3)
Brazilian left-back Lodi can be a great differential and budget player in your team.
At 5.3, he is an enabler.
He does not often start games, but has been substituted in a total of 19 times this season.
Lodi scored the winner at Old Trafford in the Last 16 and may fancy doing the same in the same city this round.
Laporte (MCI | 5.3)
Laporte is probably one of the most inaccurately priced player of UCL Fantasy this season.
At 5.3, he is out top pick for a budget player.
With Dias out, he is certain to play Center-Back along side Stones.
He played almost 90mins over the two last 16 legs.
