FPL GW35 Picks

With the first ever (I think!) Triple Gameweek before us, it is easy to get carried away with Manchester United assets.

Without meaning to be a buzzkill, there are two important things to consider –

Firstly, Manchester United play 4 games in 7 days so heavy rotation should be expected. Second, before the fixtures were rescheduled, Manchester United did not blank in GW36 which they now do. So, while it is certainly exciting, the triple gameweek does come with a sting in its tail.

I believe you should definitely keep your Manchester United assets and pick one of them for your captain. My focus for this article, however, will be around players who do not blank in GW36.

FPL GW35 Picks – BUY

Wilfried Zaha (£7.2m / 10.6%)

I’m not going to lie, Zaha’s underlying stats are awful, nevertheless, he is my main transfer target for GW35 (assuming he is in contention to play).

Crystal Palace arguably have the best fixtures of the double (sou/shu) and then play Aston Villa in GW36. It is fair to expect the Crystal Palace talisman to get some returns over the next three games.

Keep an ear out for injury news in the press conferences.

Mohamed Salah (£12.7m / 35.7%)

I can’t get him in because I have already maxed out on Liverpool players – Jota, TAA and Nat Phillips – but if I could, I would.

Liverpool have brilliant fixtures (mun+NEW, wba, bur, CRY) for the run-in and Salah’s underlying stats have been impressive in the last four gameweeks (3rd for xG, 2nd for Shots In The Box).

He is one goal behind Kane in the Golden Boot race and you can be sure this will be on his mind.

FPL GW35 Picks – SELL

Matheus Pereira (£5.5m / 5.5%)

Amazing in recent weeks, Pereira (who came in on my WC in GW31), is now leaving the building. His returns have been impressive – as have his underlying stats – but with difficult fixtures ahead (ars, LIV, whu, lee) and no double in GW35, it is time to part ways.

Ben Chilwell (£5.9m / 14.5%)

Top FPL Defenders

Chelsea have awful fixtures coming up (ARS+mci, LEI, avl) and a blank in GW35 so it is with great caution I would keep hold of their assets (although I am stuck with two of them myself).

For someone so highly owned, Chilwell is a rotation risk, very expensive and may struggle to keep a clean sheet in the next three fixtures.

FPL GW35 Picks – KEEP

Harry Kane (£11.9m / 44.9%)

Harry Kane is the 3rd most sold player ahead of GW35 but to me this makes little sense. While Spurs do not double in GW35, they also don’t blank in GW36 and have a fairly decent run in (lee, WOL, AVL, lei) thereafter.

Like Salah, Kane will have his targets locked on the Golden Boot race.

Patrick Bamford (£6.4m / 39.4%)

Bamford is the highest sold player ahead of GW35. I no longer own him but if I did, I would think twice about selling.

Again, he doesn’t blank in GW36 and after a tough match against Spurs, Leeds have a nice run in (bur, sou, WBA)
