Togga Perfect XI | PXI – GW20: Boxing Day

The action doesn’t stop as we head into GW20. The hectic Christmas schedule is taking its toil on all fantasy league managers as we struggle with rotation. It’s now officially the second half of the season and that means I have a lot of catching up to do if I’m to finish in the top 100 of PXI.

=============

FF Titan had another good week while the rest of the FF team struggled to keep pace. This GW is probably not the week to take risks to try to make up ground with rotation weighing heavy on everyone’s mind. Safety picks with sure starters will be the way to go.

  • Tottenham Hotspur vs Southampton
  • AFC Bournemouth vs West Ham United
  • Chelsea vs Brighton & Hove Albion
  • Huddersfield Town vs Stoke City
  • Manchester United vs Burnley
  • Watford vs Leicester City
  • West Bromwich Albion vs Everton
  • Liverpool vs Swansea City
  • Newcastle United vs Manchester City
  • Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

Stay Away From

  • Crystal Palace vs Arsenal
  • On paper this might look like an easy match for ARS, but CRY have not lost in the last 8 league games and have picked up more points than ARS over the last 4 games. ARS doesn’t have that impressive a record away from home hence might be easier to sit this one out.

Take Note

  • Liverpool vs Swansea City
  • We know LIV can score; the problem is just keeping the opponents from scoring. Against a SWA team that has lost 6 consecutive away games, perhaps this might be the time to load up on LIV attackers.

GK

  1. David de Gea (MUN) – Easy choice. BRN will probably have shots on target that de Gea will save. Good chance for a clean with points for saves.
  2. Thibaut Courtois (CHE) – Didn’t do a lot for the game against EVE but at home against BHA makes for a pretty safe choice.

DEF

  1. Marcos Alonso (CHE) – Started every league game this season, the only worry is if he’ll be substituted out.
  2. Nicolas Otamendi (MCI) – Consistent, I don’t see MCI throwing away their streak away at NEW.
  3. Jan Vertonghen (TOT) – I would have gone with Trippier, but he’s not a confirmed starter. If you can wait for a game day decision, then Trippier would be first choice.
  4. Christopher Schindler (HUD) – A sure starter, there might be a chance for clean sheet points at home against STK.
  5. Dejan Lovren (LIV) – If you can stomach the defence that is LIV, Lovren will be the man to have.

MID

  1. Kevin De Bruyne (MCI) – Can you afford not to have him? The only consideration is rotation. Check the lineup for this one.
  2. Eden Hazard (CHE) – Same as above.
  3. Philippe Coutinho (LIV) – He’s on fire, there is no way LIV can afford to leave him out of the starting lineup.
  4. Paul Pogba (MUN) – Played the full 90 min against LEI, I’m hoping he does something special at home against BRN.
  5. Sadio Mane (LIV) – Saw some action against ARS, not sure if he’ll start but definitely worth considering if he does.

FWD

  1. Sergio Aguero/Gabriel Jesus (MCI) – Aguero might be rested, Jesus will be your pick if that happens.
  2. Mohamed Salah (LIV) – Need I say more?
  3. Romelu Lukaku (MUN) – I’m thinking he’ll probably bully BRN into giving up a goal or two.
