*Points were adjusted as they were reclassified from forwards to midfielders.

Next, we looked at their Points per match in 2018/2019 divided by their price in 2019/2020. As mentioned before, Points per match was used to mitigate the fact that some of these players may have missed parts of the season through injury, rotation.

(Points per match – Season 2018) divided by (Price – 2019)

  1. Fraser            – 7.5m – 0.64
  2. Zaha              – 7.0m – 0.64*
  3. Perez             – 6.5m – 0.64*
  4. Milivojevic     – 7.0m – 0.63
  5. Anderson       – 7.0m – 0.61
  6. Sigurdsson     – 8.0m – 0.60
  7. Pogba            – 8.5m – 0.60
  8. Doucoure       – 6.0m – 0.58
  9. Sterling           – 12.0m – 0.58
  10. Silva                – 7.5m – 0.57
  11. Mane              – 11.5m – 0.56
  12. Redmond       – 6.5m – 0.55
  13. Richarlison     – 8.0m – 0.55
  14. Moura            – 7.5m – 0.55
  15. Salah              – 12.5m – 0.54
  16. Maddison       – 7.0m – 0.54
  17. Silva                – 8.0m – 0.54
  18. Son                 – 9.5m – 0.54
  19. Sane               – 9.5m – 0.51
  20. Eriksen           – 9.0m – 0.51

Similar to forwards, the most expensive players (Salah, Sterling, Mane) may not be the best value for money players. One notable absentee we like to highlight is Kevin De Bruyne. Using his season 2017-2018 points per match divided by his Price 2019-2020, he gets a value of 0.59 which will place him in 8th place.

Also, another way to use this data could be which big hitters to consider. Given that you will likely only have budget for 1 big hitter, Sterling could be the one as he is ranked above Mane and Salah in this list.
