League SX | 8 Differential Picks for the week

This gameweek is sandwiched between the quarter-finals of two European competitions so do note that the top sides may have the tendency to rotate their line-ups to keep their squads fresh. With that, we look at 8 differential picks which you want to have in your line-up this week.

Mauro Icardi (Inter / FW / 10.3) – The 24-year-old Argentine is Inter’s captain and talisman. He has already scored 20 in the league so far this season, but the last of those came 3 gameweeks ago and his club has yet to win since. However, against arch-rivals AC Milan, we reckon that he will improve and perhaps pick up a goal or two. He is currently the third highest fantasy scorer in Serie A.

Marek Hamsik (Napoli / MF / 9.7) – The Slovak has started every of his club’s league games so far this season and faces Udinese this gameweek. Like Inter, Napoli is already out of Europe and is chasing the points to keep them in third place in the league. Form-wise, Hamsik has 3 assists and a goal in his last five in Serie A.

Yann Sommer (B Monchengladbach / GK / 8.2) – The Swiss keeper is enjoying a good season in fantasy and is the top scoring keeper in the Bundesliga, despite his team’s struggles. His side visits the on-form TSG Hoffenhiem team and Sommer will need a good game for his side to get anything at all.

Benedikt Howedes (Schalke 04 / DF / 7.1) – German international Howedes is good player to have in LeagueSX, He is the second top-scoring defender (Behind Alaba) and faces the hapless Darmstadt 98 side this weekend.

Heung Min Son (Tottenham Hotspur / MF / 8.0) – Son scored twice last gameweek and his side faces Bournemouth at home. Bournemouth have been rather toothless away from home, while Spurs has been on fire. Harry Kane is back but given his current form, Son will not be left out. The Korean is a must have this week.

Jermain Defoe (Sunderland / FW / 8.5) – To many, Sunderland is already a dead horse and in all likelihood they will be relegated. However, they should have that little bit of fight left in them and against West Ham is their last chance to prove that they have Premier League calibre. The Hammers are one of many of Defoe’s old clubs and we reckon he can break his duck this gameweek.

Inaki Williams (Athletic Bilbao / FW / 8.0) – Outside of the top 3 clubs, Williams has been one of the top performer strikers in La Liga. His 5 goals and 4 assists have put him in the top 10 in terms of fantasy points and against Las Palmas, he will be a genuinely interesting pick.

Steven Nzonzi (Sevilla / MF / 7.4) – It is not common that a defensive midfielder makes it to our selections but this week we have Nzonzi, who visits Valencia. Sevilla has kept 14 clean sheets so far this season and Nzonzi has done a great job helping out their back four. He is also the seventh highest scorer as a midfielder in La Liga.
