5 FPL Differentials for the next 5 GWs (GW10-14)

A large part of pick FPL players is of course looking at the forthcoming fixture list. As stated in one of our previous tips, we advised managers to look at the next 3-6 fixtures before making picks. This week, we look at the next 5 fixtures and pick 5 potential differentials that can help you pull away from the crowd.

  • Wayne Rooney (EVE, 7.3) <FWD>
  • Gylfi Sigurdsson (EVE, 8.1) <MID>

Managerless Everton enters the next phase of their history as they continue to look for their next manager but whoever comes in, it is not likely for him to drop Rooney and Sigurdsson. Rooney is currently Everton’s top FPL player at the moment with 38pts and has scored four times. At times he had not played well but in truth, Everton do not have a readily available striker to replace him. The club captain will continue to start and is on penalty duties as well so is always a good bet for a goal or two.

Icelandic Sigurdsson has yet to register a goal or assist so far but he is unlikely to be dropped too, given his previous exploits in the Premier League. He is behind most set-pieces as well so you do feel that something is going to turn good for Siggy.

Also, the Toffees have five relatively easy games to come (@LEI, vWAT, @PAL, @STK, vWHM) so you do feel that a couple of wins is on the cards.

  • Alberto Moreno (LIV, 4.5) <DEF>

These days clean sheets and Liverpool do not really go hand in hand but as a defender, Moreno is very attacking. He is making less mistakes than the previous seasons and seemed to have cemented his spot as the regular left-back for the Reds, at least in the Premier League. Liverpool has winnable games coming up, (vHUD, @WHM, vSOT) and you reckon that they will score a few there. At this price, Moreno is a bargain.

  • Shane Duffy (BRI, 4.5) <DEF>

When it comes to Brighton, most managers will pick Pascal Gross (TSB = 15.6%) and ignore everyone else. No other Brighton player has TSB of >5%, except for Uwe Huneneier who is picked for his extremely low price (3.9). Duffy is a worthy pick because he always starts and is actually good going forward. Brighton plays vSOU, @SWA and vSTK next so he can potentially be in your XI for three straight weeks. They play @MNU on GW13 before coming home to play vPAL.

  • Wilfred Zaha (PAL, 6.7) <MID>

Of course, the entire Palace team has been pretty rubbish in FPL and real life so far. No Palace player has scored more than 20 FPL pts. Zaha is fourth on the Palace table with 12pts and he has only played three games so far. Palace is severely lacking outlets upfront and Zaha looks like the only one to be able to provide anything at times. Other than a tough visit @TOT on GW11, Palace as winnable home games vWHM / vEVE / vSTK, all fellow struggling sides at this stage. Zaha is a solid fifth midfielder to have, even though he may be slightly over-priced at 6.7.
