The first double game week of the 2019/20 FPL season has been confirmed. Liverpool’s visit to West Ham, which was initially scheduled on GW18, will be played now on Wednesday, 29th Jan 2020. This fixture would be in the mid-week immediately after the FA Cup fourth round over the weekend.
We have prepare an FAQ – do check in with us if you have more questions!
- What is happening?
Liverpool and West Ham will play two games in GW24.
- Why is this happening?
Liverpool’s trip to Qatar for the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup meant that their visit to West Ham had to be postponed. The Premier League had decided for this fixture to play on on 29th Jan and the Gods of FPL have decided to put this fixture as part of GW24 (and not GW25).
- How will this affect my players?
Players from both Liverpool and West Ham will now have two games to earn FPL points for your team.
- What if the players from the said teams only play in one of the two games?
Then only points earned from that one fixture will count. A player would need to not play in both fixtures for him to be shifted out of your first XI.
- What does this mean for my FPL Chips?
Free Hit / Wildcard – Clearly this presents a good opportunity to utilise either of these two chips to bring in the maximum allowed of 6 players (3 from each team) into your team.
Triple Captain – Yes, it would be tantalizing to utilise the TC chip here for Liverpool players, the likes of Mane, Salah or even TAA.
Bench Boost – No real relevance here, utilise the BB much later when more than two teams have double games.
- What do you suggest I do?
Still early days, but you can build your squad up to 3 Liverpool players, if you have not already done so. Early suggestions include Alisson (GK), Mane (MID), Salah (MID) or Alexander-Arnold (DEF). Otherwise, stay tuned to our page as we analyse this GW24 in depth when things become clearer.
