Gameweek 13 saw 33 goals scored with 4 clean sheets.
Jose’s first game as Tottenham manager ended with a 3-2 win away at West Ham. Kane (TOT, 10.8m, TSB 16.7%) and Son (TOT, 9.7m, TSB 11.1%) both got on the scoresheet, while Tottenham conceded 2 late goals to continue their poor defensive form. Managers will now be tempted to get Kane and Son, which could prove to be good differential picks considering their relatively low ownership.
Arsenal salvaged a 2-2 draw at home with Southampton. Their next 3 fixtures are @NOR, BHA, @WHU which is certainly promising from an attacking perspective. Lacazette (ARS, 9.3m, TSB 2.1%) outscored his more expensive team mate Aubameyang (ARS, 11.0m, TSB 23.5%) with 2 goals and 3 bonus points. With the next 3 fixtures so close by, you get the sense that some rotation will be forthcoming, which makes both of them uncertain picks.
Leicester continues their good form with a 2-0 away win at Brighton, and Vardy (LEI, 9.7m, TSB 40.8%) repays his managers once more with 1 goal, 1 assist and 3 bonus points. It was also Leicester’s 4 clean sheet in a row.
Liverpool kept their lead at the top of the table with a workmanlike 2-1 away at Palace. Mane (LIV, 12.2m, TSB 39.9%) proves to be the talisman once more with 1 goal and 2 bonus points while Salah (LIV, 12.2m, TSB 23.2%) is at least fit again but stayed on the bench. The smart money now will surely be on Mane given Salah’s fitness concerns.
Everton surprisingly lost 2-0 at home to Norwich, which disappointed managers who had Digne (EVE, 5.9m, TSB 16.8%) and other managers who brought in Richarlison (EVE, 7.9m, TSB 7.5%) hoping for a big home win. The pressure continues to weigh on Marco Silva, and Everton’s upcoming fixtures is as tough as it can get (@LEI, @LIV, CHE, @MUN, ARS).
Manchester City earned a hard fought 2-1 victory at home against Chelsea. De Bruyne (MCI, 10.2m, TSB 40.1%) and Mahrez (MCI, 8.3m, TSB 3.6%) are the scorers, with Sterling (MCI, 12.0m, TSB 32.4%) last minute goal chalked off by VAR. Managers with Sterling are certainly on the lookout to buy other midfielders who are more in form. Managers with Mount (CHE, 6.7m, TSB 31.3%) will be concerned with his benching. He should be assured of a start against WHU in the next fixture, but with the games (WHU, AST, @EVE, BOU) coming thick and fast, rotation is perhaps inevitable for Chelsea attackers.
Lord Lundstram (SHU, 4.9m, TSB 43.9%) could only muster 3 points in the game at home to Manchester United, but on another day, he could have had a clean sheet. Manchester United is blowing hot and cold but their attacking duo of Rashford (MUN, 8.6m, TSB 14.9%) and Martial (MUN, 7.8m, TSB 9.5%) will probably be their source of goals and assists. Another to monitor is Williams (MUN, 4.0m, TSB 1.2%), who started ahead of Young at left back and scored a goal.
That’s all for now, and managers will be bracing themselves for Gameweek 14, which is the beginning of 3 matches in the space of 10 days.
